Re: ColorQube 8580 Printing gibberish

Take the printers IP address and put in the address bar of Safari (Your web browser) to load CWIS

Click on what I listed above and change the FTP dropdown so that it is not on and apply it. Problem solved.

Thanks for your suggestion.  Now I have to figure out how to do that in a Mac computer!

Re: ColorQube 8580 Printing gibberish

This would be someone on your network doing this, they are using FTP to send something (certainly not a print ready file, what you are seeing on the page is Postscript code) to the printer.

So disable FTP (If you don't use it), or change the password and wait for the submitter to ask why they can no longer ftp to the printer.

ColorQube 8580 Printing gibberish

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello,

I recently purchased a ColorQube 8580 color printer.  In multiple occasions, I've come to my office to find that the printer has printed 100s of pages with a single line of gibberish.  It recently used the entire paper block that I put on the paper tray!

The latest printing event gave had the following message as it ran out of paper:

  • Job creator:  anonymous
  • Receiving Port: FTP

As you might imagine, this is a total waste of resources and I would love it to stop.

The printer is connected to the network via a ethernet cable.

Please help!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The picture below shows the entire pile of paper with one line of gibberish text.
