The newest driver released for the Mac OSx seems to have corrected this issue now.
We are having the same issue with a Mac Pro running 10.5.8, and a Phaser 7500dn printer. When the client sends a Word document to this printer she receives a popup box stating, "commandtoxbds has unexpectedly quit" The document will print if the user selects the Ignore button. I have not found a lot on this error. The user has not updated her computer, so we don't know how a normally functioning computer just up and started showing this error message?
Maybe it's the OS? My 10.5.8 is running on a non-Intel PowerMac G5. Did you test it on an Intel Mac?
Hi All,
I recently tested the new drivers (2.59) and previous drivers (2.56) for this issue on a Colorqube and WC 75xx, as we had an analyst run into the issue at a customer site. I tested installing both drivers on Mac 10.5 & 10.6 and did not encounter the problem. This does not seem to be a known issue, but rather a 1 off situation where this error occured.
Loaded new driver today, 2.59.0, for 8570.
Same problem as detailed in previous post; same remedy : deleted "commandtoxbds" and everthing worked.
I'm surprised no-one's commented on this and that it still occurs three drivers later.
bump
I don't have the 9303, but I've just installed driver 2.56.0 on the ColorQube 8570 on an external drive, with the same result. Both Word and Excel crash and report "commandtoxbds" as you describe. (Quark and Photoshop did not crash.)
I deleted "commandtxbds" and Word and Excel then worked.
I removed 2.56.0, reinstalled it, tested again, and, when the crashes occurred again, replaced "commandtoxbds" with an earlier version (2.50.0) from an internal drive. All applications worked as normal.
My computer is a PowerMac G5 (PPC, not Intel) running OSX 10.5.8 (Leopard). I thought at first the crash might have something to do with the system, but on reading your post wondered if it was a general bug. I hope this may help Support track down the cause.
Hi all,
I work in IT for a large multi-platform company. We have about 100 users running Mac OSX 10.5.8 - 10.6.0.
2 Mac users within our organization are experiencing an issue when trying to print from our new ColorQube 9303 copier. They are given an error message that:
"commandtoxbds has unexpectedly quit" and this error message seems to run in pairs, as the error message is brought on screen twice, immediately after clicking on ignore, report, or restart application.
I have tried removing the commandtoxbds from the /Library/Printers/Xerox/Filters/ folder, however I am then given an "Unknown error has occured" message, and whichever program I am wishing to print from will then freeze up and force quit itself.
I have also tried replacing the commandtoxbds file with the same file from a working Mac, however the same issue has occured.
I then tried deleting any trace of the Xerox copier from the Mac, and reinstalling the drivers and machine. This just reproduces the same error message.
I am just wondering whether or not this is a known issue with a fix. I have placed a call with Tech Support, however they were stumped about the issue as well.
Both mac users who are experiencing this issue are running on Mac OSX 10.5.8 on Mac Pro 4.1
