Colorqube 8580DN will not delete job

HI,

We have a xerox colorqube 8580DN which has a job stuck in the que. You can delete the job then 5 seconds later it re-appears.

This is blocking our print que and we have tried the following to clear it.

  • Uninstall and re-install
  • Update frimware
  • Reinstall driver
  • Clear printer fault history

We did get a message up on re-install that stated the "job could not be deleted job was finished." or something very similar.

It is connected with a USB and i am running mac sierra OS.

We also had a repair done on the printer and i know the engineer connected via a network connection ip address and i wondering if something has caused this from that? I cant call them back now as out of warranty.

Any help welcome.

Update, the exact wording when trying to cancel job is:

"unable to delete printer status - job #72299 is already completed - cant cancel"

UNplug from any source that can print and reboot the printer 3 times in a row to clear the job.

Check and make sure no job is then stuck in the PC that was hooked to it (Printer ICON on the Dock)

 

Wait a few minutes to verify it is gone then plug it back into the Mac

You could do the kill all procedure, but would lose anything else stored on the printer (all settings including it's IP address)

 

NOTE: Resetting NVRAM returns stored parameters in the image processor board NVRAM to their factory default values. The print count and the Adobe firmware serial number are not affected by this reset. You can reset the PostScript NVRAM using the Service Tools menu or the Service Diagnostics menu.

To reset the printers NVRAM using the Service Tools menu:

NOTE: Print a Configuration Page before resetting NVRAM.

  1. Press and hold the [Up] arrow button on the Control Panel, and then press the [OK] button. This will automatically display the Service Tools menu on the Display Screen.
  2. Press the [OK] button.
  3. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Reset NVRAM], and then press the [OK] button.

To reset the printers NVRAM using the Control Panel:

  1. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button on the Control Panel to select [Troubleshooting] on the Display Screen, and then press the [OK] button.
  2. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Service Tools], and then press the [OK] button.
  3. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Reset NVRAM], and then press the [OK] button.
  4. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Exit], and then press the [OK] button to return to the Main screen.

OK, your video completely negates what i just posted.

The job is on your Mac, not the printer. If you are not comfortable using the terminal or CUPS to find and wipe the job, just reset the printing system and reinstall the printer(s)

Hi, thanks for the info,

I have entered the console.app and under cups i can see this in the error log.

 

If i clear error log it just re-appears, do i need to do something different?

 

Not familiar with cups or console. thank you

Ok, the combination of cups, uninstalling and resetting printer 3 times all together seems to of worked.

at last a printer that works properly.

You are not going to believe this, turned system on this morning and the dreaded job has returned, this is frustrating.

Any ideas?
