Just remove and reinstall the driver, use the latest Global driver and all will be well.
MS has a bad habit of replacing drivers with MS Class Drivers, this causes many issues.
I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, and the following error message carried on with the upgrade: "Printer status is not available at this time." This message appears in the middle of the screen with no error code, just the message. I'm pretty certain the problem is with the driver, which, although it was updated for Windows 8, didn't get updated for Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. I think all will be well when there is an updated driver. Right?
