Convert metered toner to sold

Metered machines are just in Full Service Maintenance Agreement contact. So the machine can be converted by a Xerox tech just if you sign a contract like this

Office manager accidentally ordered metered toner instead of sold.

Our service plan is "sold" since we own the machine.

It is too late to return them because it's been months ago since we've ordered.

Machine displays error code: 09-558-00 The (Y) Toner is not compatible...

This is obviously a chip read as to why the machine will not accept this type of toner.

My questions are can I purchase replacement chips(sold) directly from Xerox instead of 3rd party outlets? Is there a "work around" to this type of issue? 

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to avoid buying new toner and sitting on over $600 worth of toner that I cannot use.
