It is not right normal. It can be from what I said: a bad developer housing who can loose developer material and toner and who can generate a mess inside the machine.
Hi Philip,
In this case, it is sure that your problem become from Cyan Developer Housing and If you do not have a Service Manual to guide you to remove Developer Housing I recommend you a tech person to do that.

One addition: The toner cartridges look a little filthy and are covered with powder. Is this normal?
Thanks Philip
Hi,
It will be better if you can/have try another toner cartridge to eliminate CRUM (chip) issue. But in many cases it can be a Developer Housing problem, wich can be defective and loose Developer material, so the ATC (automatic toner concentration) sensor cant read the toner density on the IBT (image belt transfer).

Hello Community,
I just changed the empty Cyan toner with a new one on our Workcentre 7242 and it does not recognise the new toner. Still keeps saying it is empty.
I followed the instructions and did restart the printer couple of time.
Is there any special trick I need to do in this case. Maybe clean something or do a special procedure?
Help appreciated,
Thanks and regards
Philip
