Dear Xerox - please peer review your PKG scripts (stop tampering with non-Xerox files and folders)

Product Name: AltaLink C8030 / C8035 / C8045 / C8055 / C8070 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: macOS 12 - Monterey

Every once in a while we find a PKG that runs questionable/sloppy commands that can potentialy cause problems with non-Xerox files/folders on a Mac.

This comment on your postinstall script in your XeroxDrivers_5.10.1_2333.dmg driver smacks of reckless disregard for standards.

To whoever manages the team who creates your PKG installers for macOS, please tell your team to stop.

If you want/need to adjust owner:group and/or permissions on your software, go for it, just stop tampering with stuff that is not your software.

Learning moment? Let's hope so.

# should already be correct but let's make sure
chown -R root:wheel "/Library/Printers/PPDs"
chmod -R go-w "/Library/Printers/PPDs"
