Hi, were you able to resolve your problem? If so, how? We have a c405 printer that needs its first black toner replacement since original purchase. The current toner that came form factory has 1 wheel but all replacement cartridges we are being send have 3 wheels and the printer continues to reject the toner saying inproper cartridge loaded. Thank you for any help you can offer.
Hello mnammour,
The printer reads a chip on the very first toner cartridge that is installed into the printer. After that if you try to put in other toner with a different part number like described below it will give you the incompatible message.
Meter Toner --106R03508 - Black 106R03509 - Yellow 106R03510 - Cyan 106R03511 - Magenta
Sold Toner --106R03500 - Black 106R03501 - Yellow 106R03502 - Cyan 106R03503 - Magenta
#1 - " SOLD/ Regular " - You own this machine. No Contract.
#2 - " Metered " - Cost per Copy, Renting Machine, Contract with Xerox

Hi All,
My company bought 8 Versalink C405 printers a few months ago, and we are having an issue with toner compatibility. We discovered that there are two sets of toner series that were given to us by the local xerox vendor. The sets are as below
106R03508 - Black
106R03509 - Yellow
106R03510 - Cyan
106R03511 - Magenta
106R03500 - Black
106R03501 - Yellow
106R03502 - Cyan
106R03503 - Magenta
The problem is that 4 of our 8 C405s are working with the first series, and the other 4 are working with the second series. If we try to install a toner from the "wrong" series in a printer, it will fit inside perfectly but it will not work and give an error "Incompatible Toner”. The local Xerox vendor seems to have no clue about what is causing the issue and they have a ticket open with Xerox 3rd level support, but that is a slow and painful process. Anybody know what the issue might be, and if there are any quick solutions for it?
