I am sorry that nobody has gotten back to you before now.
I believe that Fabio was trying to have you download and install the Windows XP driver. Not the drivers that are in Windows 7 already. You might even try the Windows Vista driver if you haven't already.
Please let us know if you have any luck with either the XP or Vista driver. Failing those, I'll try to find something else to resolve this issue.
(by now, I am starting to think Xerox is a horrible product and I should avoid purchasing from you in the future)
Fabio, thanks for the response. However, I don't quite understand you.
You wrote: "the XP drivers for the windows 7 system" - are these XP or W7 drivers?
If you meant to write: "the XP drivers ON the windows 7 system", than - yes, I did. I tried them first as they were downloaded and then tried in compatibility mode for XP - to no avail.
The system keeps returning an error - that these are kernel mode drivers and cannot be installed.
Thank you for offering this site. I searched through google but found no information about my problem.
I purchased 3 Workcentre 3119 All-In-One machines and we are very happy with them. They print and scan 100 pages per day for a couple of months now and we DO NOT want to replace them.
Recently, we moved on to Win7 64 bit. The problem is that the printer would not install!
I downloaded the so-called W7 drivers but they would not install. The installer marks an X during install of the printer, claiming it cannot install kernel-mode drivers. I can get a more
detailed report should you require it.
I tried the global driver but it handles PS and PCL emulations, while the WC 3119 uses QDPL 1.40 (it did not work). The windows update DOES download a 3119 driver but it only installed the scanner, it gives errors for the printer and the printer is not installed.
We are currently using a Vista 32bit machine for printing but it is definitely not acceptable and if it turns out we have to buy new printers, I will not go for Xerox or ever consider it in the future.
Thank You. Tod.
