I downloaded the hungarian driver from this address: http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-3119/downloads/engb.html?operatingSystem=win7x64 . It works. I think it will work the english driver too. Good luck!
BUMP... No answer from xerox support?
Hello Mustey,
I respect your opinion but I do not agree with it.
If you do wish to have your issue studied and aresolution being presented I suggest you call Xerox Service and log call. Possible Software escalation with all the required details and you will have a one-to-one attention and analysis of the problem.
Regards,
Nah, I don't like it when the person responsible deferrs me to a 3'rd party. Bottom line is that you don't have a driver for that printer (which didn't seem to be a problem for you when you rated it compatible with win7) and I don't think a local shop will be able to come up with something Xerox didn't.
It was more a question of trying to work it out and solve things instead of giving up but I am at the point where I will recommend my boss to give up on Xerox. We will give these printers to charity and go with HP for our office needs.
Thanks for time anyway.
Hi Tod,
The expert that I talked to has suggested that you enlist the support of your local Xerox support center as we can not test our answers. There is a Win 7 x64 driver but there is no information that says it is supported. That doesn't mean that it's not supported, it just means that we can't find any. In most cases, the Vista x64 drivers work in place of the Win 7 x64 driver. I think you have tried the Vista x32 driver which didn't help you??? I believe that you tried the Win XP x64 drivers as well to no avail??? I really think that you need the help of your local Xerox Tech to be able to physically work with you and your machines at your location. I am very sorry that I could not help you via this forum.
John
Hi Tod,
This is a tough one! I need to find someone here in Xerox that supports the 3119 because I am out of ideas now. I really thought that there was an issue with an old version on your computer. I know that this is frustrating for you and I'm going to try to find someone as quickly as possible! I hope that you are still able to work and that you are not "down" while waiting for a solution. Please bare with me as I find an expert to help us with this.
John
Trust me, you are also helping the company that employs you. I realize I am not exactly your top 100 customer but if you know the sales business, it's little slips like these that generate an overall bad reputation.
I tried to remove the current Xerox drivers on our windows 7 machines but I didn't see them in the list. I think it's because the drivers did not install in the first place.
Just to make sure, I did the following thing: We currently use a netbook with Vista installed on to which we send the print requests, I installed one of our Windows 7-64 copies on it, meaning there's no way this computer, with a fresh reinstall, could have a faulty Xerox driver in it, "blocking" the "good" driver. I even made sure I don't hook up the printer physically until the downloaded Win7-64 driver is asking for it. The result:
Same thing! I can't copy paste the message but what it basically says is that these drivers Xerox made available for Win7 64 bit are Kernel Mode and Win7 64 bit does not like them, apparently.
Sorry Tod, we're just trying to help.
Click here to get the Windows 7 print driver and scan driver along with a installation guide. The installation guide is a separate PDF file which instructs you to uninstall all previous printer objects for the 3119 in Windows. If you didn't uninstall when you first got your 3119s, then this whole issue could be because of that. A fresh start is required and that means you should delete all 3 of the printers themselves and then uninstall the current drivers. That will get you back to square one. Now you can download and install the Windows 7 drivers (printer & scan) and set up the printers on your new computer. The instructions for the uninstall and installation are in the same document on the PDF that I referenced above.
That is not acceptable. I tried all sorts of drivers (since this issue takes so long, I forgot which). I think I tried them all (all operating systems, 32 and 64 bit).
I don't think it's my job to make the drivers work.
How about YOU check which drivers for the 3119 fit Windows 7 64 bit? (not guessing).
What if you bought a car and it won't start and they gave you 10 keys and told you: We think one of them just might turn it on! :smileywink:
