you need to check these settings from the driver level so go to the print server then to the printer properties 

check the Bi-directional communication

Check the SNMP

After that you need to test on the print server itself if it works then you need to remove the printer from the user pc and reconnect it ;IF it not try to install it locally on one of the user PC's for testing purpose only"

SNMP was disabled on the MFP.  I enabled it.

Bi-directional communication is on the printer on the print server.

However, is it just the driver?  It appears nowhere in Windows to note the tray configuration, nor in the Preferences.  See Tray 2 here?  It's showing letter, but it's set for legal on the MFP.

I have that version of the driver installed, but the PCL6 one instead.

which driver you are using ? V3 or V4  ?

can you check what if the Bi-Directional Communication is turned off ? also what the status of the SNMP under the port configuration ? 

if the Bi-directional communication sett to be OFF then the driver’s Printing Preferences will NOT report information about the printer's status, paper tray status ,supplies status and job notifications . 

Also if the SNMP is disabled it will stops the Bi-directional communication which will affect also on the tray status 

Try to install a fresh V3 driver from here

Hullo!

I am having a bear of a time with the Windows 10 x64 driver for the Xerox VersaLink B605 MFP.  I have installed both the latest from the Xerox site, and also directly from the MFP itself.  Both will work, but I cannot have the user easily print to the tray they want.  I have a bypass (manual feed) tray, a letter tray, and a legal tray.  On our old VersaLink B405 MFP, when printing, it was easy to go into Printer Preferences and select the Tray.  Now, not only do they have to do that, they have to specifiy the size everytime.  

I have tried setting each tray to the specific paper (Letter and Legal) in Windows.  On the device itself, the trays are set to Letter and Legal.  Yet, in the Printer Preferences, when I try to set a tray to a size, it changes it for all trays.  I have tried Presets, and have the same issue.

My users can print to it, but are very annoyed with the amount of clicks needed when trying to specify the tray/paper they want to use.  Why can I not set tray specific settings in the Xerox driver?
