The available stocks are displayed according to size of the paper, so if you don't have a size that is considered an envelope set, Envelope isn't an option. Same with tab stock and many others.
I don't know of any firmware that ever changed what the printers are capable of running, but my devices are always on the absolute latest spar firmware. There are no changes between model numbers inside the AltaLink family for options.
Thanks Joe,
I placed the envelope in the tray as the tray shows but my options for the Width was 9--11.4, Length 5.5--17, if I placed the envelope lengthwise it allowed me to change to the lower numbers. It didn't work with the 4.2*9.5 but it did work with the 4.1*9.5 (Using Word and printing to "Envelope #10"
I was then able to change the type to envelope.
The envelope was slightly creased but apparently that happened on their last printer as well.
I do also have to note that your screen (as well as a video I found on Youtube) shows many more options. Mine is not showing the up and down arrows for the second page. I wonder if it is a slightly different model or having to do with the software version? Not sure if you have any info on that. But a big Thank you for your assistance!
Do a custom size, 9.5*4.2 and then, and only then, will the envelope option appear.
In the manual, it shows that you can print Envelope #10 from the bypass tray.
When our accounting department places a #10 envelope in the feeder, it is not giving them the option to print #10 envelopes. Ive tried placing the envelope both length and width and the only option we get is C6 Envelope.
The firmware is the latest. Has anyone had this issue? or can anyone offer assistance?
Dave
