Have you tried another web browser? Chrome , MS Edge and Xerox do not play well with each other.
Otherwise I would say that machine is just corrupt since nothing seems to apply, an ALTboot is probably the way to go.
current version is 072.190.004.09101
trying to upgrade to 072.190.165.14201
There are multiple reasons, and almost all relate to incompatable releases.
You cannot just go from an 071 to an 072 for example.
You can't load the firmware from the wrong device (A 7835 and a 7845 do not actually have the same firmware.)
Tell me what firmware is running now and I will know the device and can tell you whatever upgrade path is needed to get it to the latest 072 release, or even the 073 release (It will change the way "Workflow Scanning" looks though in the 073)
Thanks for the reply.
There was a slight typo on the title. It was meant to say clone or firmware upgrade.
I get the same error when trying to update the firrmware. I have checked the upgrade notes and it should be a straight forward upgrade path.
I do not have the firmware versions to hand but any ideas why i may be getting this error?
Probably incompatible.
We (Xerox) had some major issues with clone files and Connectkey controllers.
The rule has always been, that clone files were only for use between identical devices running the same firmware versions.
When we put out Connectkey, people started to stop paying attention to the firmware versions (Problem here is we put out new versions almost monthly to keep up with compatibility and security updates), and soon after started using clones across devices because "All Connectkey machines have matching firmware"
So with the newer versions, the development team has put in some checks for the clone files, it doesn't stop every incorrect clone, but it does at least stop major device changes (BW printer cloned to a Color printer) and definitely stops people from using them across major revisions (First 3 digits of Connectkey firmwares, 071 is 1.0 , 072 is 1.5 and 073 will be 2.0 but is currently being used in a stand alone release)
The other end would be that there was a problem found in the clone file and it is corrupt.
In either case, worse things would have happened if it had applied, so if it is the same machine running the same firmware, create a new clone. If they are different machines you need to set it up manually, and if the same machine you need to get the one you are applying the clone to put to the same firmware as where the clone is coming from.
me again
Trying to upload a clone file of a firmware upgrade on a Xerox WC5855 i am presented with the error Error Processing Upload Request
Any ideas? Thank You
