I've only had a Phaser 6510 for about 2 months until it stopped working. It lists "Completed with error 016-748" each time I try to print a job, except it doesn't, in fact, complete the job. Xerox customer service has been no help, as nobody there seems to know how to fix it, and even the on-site technician that they sent has been stumped. The "warranty" states that if Xerox cannot fix it they have to either replace it or refund the purchase, but they are so far (3 weeks and counting) refusing to honor it. Has anyone else had this issue? This error code appears on at least one other forum here, except any of the suggested tips have not worked in resolving it. Thanks.
There is a setting for stored print jobs which can be deleted after so many hours or days. This is found in the Policies under the Jobs option when you login with the admin account. It is 'Off' by default. We are trying this now after encountering this error. Had to initialize the HDD to clear the error first.
now I'm fed up. Nobody here can explain to me how to reset this error. That can only be a software problem. The Xerox support has no idea and cannot help. I've had enough now and am throwing the printer in the trash. I will never buy a Xerox product again. However, I thank everyone who tried to help me.
Sorry to hear about your frustration. When this happened to my printer in 2019, Xerox sent a technician who couldn't figure it out. Then a 2nd technician came and it took him over an hour to try to fix it -- I believe he changed the HDD INITIALIZE MODE, but I'm sorry that I don't know exactly what the steps are. Anyway, it worked and the printer is still working today. Can you get Xerox to send an on-site technician?
