Fault code 062-380

Product Name: Versalink C405DN
Operating System: Windows 10

I'm getting fault code 062-380 (fuser fault). I turn the printer on and off and I re-position the fuser. Does not help. But the strange thing is that the startup page prints fine when I turn the printer back on, and often the documents I send to print unsuccessfully during a session will print fine when I turn the printer back on, but then the printer won't print after that because of the fault code. I'm finding nothing on this site that even begins to help. All advice welcomed!

You need to call Xerox and put it up for service. 

The fault code you listed means scanner error. It did not detect enough light from the lamp. This generally means the scanner needs to be replaced. 

The fuser fault is a different fault. It begins with 010-XXX and is fixed by replacing the fuser.

buenos días a mi  multinacional   versalink c405 dn le cambie toner  pero al momento de encenderla me marco este error 062-380 si salen las impresiones pero en pantalla esta encendida la luz roja.

Le cambie los toner a mi multifucional versalink C405DN es una impresora nueva solo remplace los toner de fabrica y al encenderla me marco este error 062-380 y en la pantalla me marca la luz roja. saca impresiones pero es molesto esta falla y quiero saber porque este error.

Hi,

062-380 the scanner is defective and need to be replaced, so if the printer is under warranty claim it.

Forget your trials to fix this fault. According to Xerox support message it means either scanner lamp error or CCD error. In my case, the device does only print, but do not scann or coppy although the scanner is ok. All suggested measures for the user cannot resolve this fault. Since the printer is 2 years old and the warranty terminates after only 1 year, I ordered the manufacturer service for a claimed fixed price of 464,10 €- for a printer value of 293,28 € net. After exausting discussions with Xerox Germany and Bulgaria they agreed to any appropiriate reduced price below the printer price- in case of success.

The service tried every measure on site, replaced all suspicious parts without any positive result. The printer ist still half defect, it only prints. The service guy told me, that he didn`t expect to fix the fault, but Xerox always runs this procedure, independently of the expected result. 

Although the printer could not be repaired by the factory service, I received an invoice of full price of 464,10 € from Grait Britain. Of course, I refused the invoice by written letter and informed all other involved service sites in Germany and Bulgaria, which did not know from each other about the state of the drama. After few days, I got a reminder, which I refused, and a bit later I got an offer of reduced demand of 141,50 €. Of course, I never will pay for zero success and at least half a day of own expenditure. For sure, this was the last Xerox device I ever bought.
