Do you mind sharing the steps with me? I believe that since the failure occurred during or due to a Xerox update, that my MFP Versalink B405 is being held captive. 

Why should Xerox expect payment for repairs? Isn't that like ransomware? Xerox is sponsoring ransomware? No way! Truth, I say.

I am in diagnostic mode now. I got the password from the internet.

Hi,

There is a procedure in Diagnostic Mode that cannot be published here on the Forum because it involved Diagnostic Password available just for trained tech.

Hi,

You will need a tech to perform some procedures under Diagnostic mode ( Job Log Clear, HDD Initialize, HDD Format).
