I searched our knowledge base and found this article for Wrong Staple Position.  If the paper is load correctly then the next step would be to call the support department @ 1-800-821-2797.

Finishing issues

Product Name: AltaLink C8130 / C8135 / C8145 / C8155 / C8170 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: macOS 11 - Big Sur

When printing and selecting finishing options, 3 hole punch and one staple, the printer automatically selects the wrong side for the staple. I want it in the top left corner and it goes to the bottom left. The hole punch is correct, and it is set to automatically pick from the tray to print. 

I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and this keeps happening. 

Any idea or tips on what to do so it staples the correct side?
