Follow me Print and Versalinks-Altalinks installation issues

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 10

From the customer:

I also found this documentation although it is from 2016 I expected something more up to date as this is not really for Alta/Versa line.

The documentation mentions:  System Manager, click Devices

Which we do not find as I know the Device Manager of the pc or the Devices and Printers in control panel. J

Don't have much experience with this setup on AltaLink/VersaLink

Re: Follow me Print and Versalinks-Altalinks installation issues

Hello Freddy,

It would be helpful if you provided some more details so the Community Members can better answer your question. What model VersaLink and AltaLink devices are you referencing? Can you provide more details on the steps you have already taken?

Thanks,

Thanks Cathy,

The customer's question was related to setting up the follow me print on the server, we found the documentation in the XWS Admin Guide.

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.

I've been working with printer++ for some weeks, and found out some problems on the code that might help you.

  • First thing you should check is 32 or 64 bit version. Happened to me that I was trying to install 32 bit version on a windows 7 64bit, and the result was that no printer is actually installed, even though the monitor works.

  • Another problem might be language. In some point of the installer it checks for some error message that won't correspond if you are using windows with other language different to english. One solution to this, is to open the source code project and comment line 411 and 412 from SpoolerHelper.cs file (in my case under x64 installer). Compile, and try again.
