Hi thanks for the info. I am based in United Kingdom and cannot find a point of contact for this product. I know the machine is no longer supported and this unit isn't available, so I am perhaps wasting my time. The issue is I bought this faulty unit some time ago from a third part supplier (Amazon) who will presumably say it was too long ago to replace (even if they could). These units cannot be tested on purchase as if they are installed/removed into the printer the existing fuser and the new fuser would potentially have their life reduced due to the design of the operating system.
It is frustrating to have bought expensive supplies to find them unuseable at the point they are needed, even if a long time after purchase. It doesn't seem an age related issue as I have replaced the fuser before with similar aged products.
Do you have a contact for someone in the UK?
I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.
HI, I have two Xerox 7750 machines in regular use. I recently had to replace the fuser on one machine as it had reached end of life. The brand new, sealed box fuser purchased from Amazon didn't work and the machine still stated the installed date of the previous fuser. All contacts were clean and the fuser was sealed, wrapped and had the usual tape and foam block holding the rollers apart. It would seem the fuser is faulty, as another fuser I had in stock worked fine. Due to the nature of these consumables they cannot be tested on purchase and this one has sat on the shelf for a few years before being needed. This leaves me with a very expensive part that doesn't work and two printers without any spare fusers. Any warranty may be well expired, but these consumables have to be kept in stock as the machine is used for producing work for clients and needs to be useable all the time - hence the stock of parts.
My guess is the 3 fuses that control the expiration of the fuser were faulty. I have had a similar issue where a new fuser showed 75% remaining but was brand new - again a fuse issue as I have researched how they operate.
Anyone else had similar issues as the fuser now seems unavailable from Xerox?
