Hello josegerez,
I have copied an article from the DocuColor 2240 Knowledge Base that explains how to setup the Multi Purpose Tray (Tray 5) for Auto Size Detect. Auto Size Detect will not work with certain features or paper sizes, but most standard paper sizes and types will work. All of the restrictions are listed in the Knowledge Base article below. Please let me know if this does not resolve the issue.
Solution : Auto Size Detect for Tray 5 (Bypass Tray)
Certain standard paper sizes can be automatically detected in Tray 5 by selecting Auto Size Detect on the Tray 5 programming screen.
1.On the Basic Copying tab, under the Paper Supply column, select [More...].
2.Select [Tray 5]. The Tray 5 screen will be displayed.
3.Select [Auto Size Detect].
4.Use the up or down arrow buttons to select the appropriate paper type. Select Plain, Bond, Recycled, Transparency, and Lightweight to Extra Heavyweight paper.
5.Select [Save].
6.Select [Start] to make copies or [Save] to select additional features.
The following paper sizes can be used with the Auto Size Detect feature:
•US / Canada: 140 mm x 216 mm (5.5 x 8.5 inch) long edge feed (LEF) / short edge feed (SEF), 210 mm x 254 mm (8 x 10 inch) LEF, 216 mm x 279 mm (8.5 x 11 inch) LEF / SEF, 216 mm x 330 mm (8.5 x 13 inch) SEF, 216 mm x 355 mm (8.5 x 14 inch) SEF, 279 mm x 432 mm (11 x 17 inch) SEF.
•Europe: A5 (149 mm x 210 mm / 5.9 x 8.3 inch) LEF / SEF, A4 (210 mm x 297 mm / 8.3 x 11.7 inch) LEF / SEF, A3 (297 mm x 420 mm / 11.7 x 16.5 inch) LEF / SEF, B5 (176 mm x 250 mm / 6.9 x 9.84 inch) LEF / SEF, B4 (250 mm x 353 mm / 9.85 x 13.9 inch), Postcard (100 mm x 148 mm / 3.9 x 5.8 inch).
All other paper sizes must be specified by using the selections under Standard Size or by inputting the size under Non-standard. For example, you must specify 305 mm x 457 mm (12 x 18 inch) when using that paper size.
NOTE: A 'Paper size mismatch' message will be displayed if you try a job with Auto Size Detect selected and a paper size not included in the list above.
NOTE: Paper Tray 5 cannot be used with the following features: 1 to 2-Sided, 2 to 2-Sided, Auto Reduction / Enlargement, Auto Center, Corner Shift, Negative Image, Mirror Image, Book Duplex, Booklet Creation, Multiple Up, Repeat Image, Bound Originals, and Poster.
Hi,
We have migrated our print server from Windows 32 bits to 64 bits and the native drivers for the DocuColor 2240 ara causing several issues with the mix (server on 64 bits, clients on XP 32 bits).
We are evaluating the Global Printer Driver PS on this config and having success with all the options except with the use of the MPT tray.
When we print a job using the MPT tray, the paper is loaded from one of the normal trays. If we left opened all the trays and load paper on MPT, the job is never printed until we close any other tray, loading paper from this normal tray.
Any ideas?
