Re: Glossy settings J75 and Versant 80

I find that with my V80 I put it on the "coated" option and it comes out fine. I do have problems with it backing up though when duplexing.

Re: Glossy settings J75 and Versant 80

We have 2 Versant 80's. I have contacted 2nd level reguarding this problem. They suggested that I create a custom profile for the paper and increase fuser temp. I did that with no visible change. I was told that because of the new fuser and toner, glossy is no longer an option.

Bottom line in my opinion if you want to print on glossy stock you should probably look at something else.

Would you be able to tell me how you corrected your issue?   We use to have a gloss setting with our Konica, but with our Versant 80, we no longer have that ability and all of our output comes out matte.

Thanks

You will probably have to call for 2nd level support on that.

I support the J75, but have never used a Versant, but I believe the Versant line uses a newer toner that melts at lower heat and has smaller particles in order to achieve higher resolution. And that toner itself does not support the Gloss settings of the J75 toner.

But you would need to get that confirmed via 2nd level support for that product/ product line. They typically would have a decent workaround to achieve consistency to the J75 output.

Glossy settings J75 and Versant 80

Jump to solution
Product Name: Xerox Versant 80 Press

We were using a Xerox J75 and because we had problems with ink coverage being inadequate we started using the Glossy setting on a lot of our files.
Our problem now is that we have upgraded to a Versant 80 and clients are coming back wanting their jobs on the same stock and glossy settings as before, however the Versant 80 does not seem to have the Standard/Production and Glossy settings, as we don't want to lose customers can anyone give me any ideas?
