Horizontal lines on printout

Hello: I have repeating magenta smears every 25mm on my printouts. I printed the repeating defects service page which identified these smears as being caused by the imaging unit.

I installed a new imaging unit imaging (Xerox brand, not refurbished). New imaging was pristine, in factory-sealed plastic bag, in unopened box.

The printouts continue to have the same thick horizontal magenta smears spanning the width of the page print area.

I installed a new magenta cartridge, but the smears are still occurring. Please see photo below. Does anyone have an idea of why this is happening and what can be done to fix it? Thank you!
