Re: How can I remove a completed job from list OR prevent filename from being listed in Completed Jo

Heya!

I've heard that this can be done by using the PaperCut software, though I have never tried this myself so I do not know if it works.

Though there is actually a trial so you can try it out.

Thanks!

Re: How can I remove a completed job from list OR prevent filename from being listed in Completed Jo

Hi,

Yes, there is no way to do the same to the Windows print queue. As far as I know, Microsoft doesn't allow that. Anyway you have a workaround. Lets supose that this concern is only valid for a few users, I mean, only a few users need to send confidential doc names. Depending of this number, you can create on the server a queue for each user, then give permissions only for that user. The other users even can't see the queue.

Well is not a perfect solution but can do the trick.

Re: How can I remove a completed job from list OR prevent filename from being listed in Completed Jo

Hi,

Had a go at the job name masking. It is very much like some devices job name suppression feature. It must be said that if you use a server based queue, at least in my experience whilst the job name is hidden on the device. You can still view the actual job name on the server queue. Though not normally an issue but could be if a device is turned off or a corrupt/large file is creating a traffic jam on that server queue

Re: How can I remove a completed job from list OR prevent filename from being listed in Completed Jo

Hi,

Here it is:

- Open the driver properties window and select the ‘Options’ tab.

- Select <CRLT> + <shift> + <X > keys at the same time to open the ‘Enable Specials Features’ window.

- Enter the Special Feature Code: "code10" in lower case

- Select [OK] to enable

- You will see a description like: Mask Job Name

If the feature is enabled, the driver will not send the document Job Name. The driver will auto-generate a rolling job ID, which is composed of a driver generated incremental counter on a per user basis.

The counter will be re-set to 1 once it reaches 999.

Hope this helps

Rui

Re: How can I remove a completed job from list OR prevent filename from being listed in Completed Jo

Hi Rui,

Yes, I'm interested in the "silent option" to mask the real name of the job (filename).  Please let me know any info you have.  It's a WorkCentre 7535 PS.

Thanks for your help!

Re: How can I remove a completed job from list OR prevent filename from being listed in Completed Jo

Hi,

Deleting the Completed Jobs may not be a good idea because this list tells you if a certain job as an error and what error so you can correct it, for instance a scan job was completed or not.

There is a driver called Xerox Global Driver that has a silent option that can avoid you see your job name in the printer. Instead the name you will see something like job1, job2, etc. Don't remember exactly what you will see, but the real job name is never showed. Is this workaround fit your needs? Please tell me so I can post here what you need to do. I also need to know the device model.

Rui

How can I remove a completed job from list OR prevent filename from being listed in Completed Jobs?

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I just realized that the job name and the associated owner are listed in the "Completed Jobs" status.  When printing sensitive files, the managers do not always want the filename to be visible to the general public. We'd hate to have to rename the file to something innocuous any time we need to print confidential files.  Anybody know how to either delete jobs from the Completed Jobs list OR prevent the filename from showing in this list?
