Hi,
you can at the device conceal the filenames via the picture below. I"m sure each model's interface is slightly different. but it does work. Each filename becomes a series of astrix's. ****
Printer Properties is a basic functionality of a Windows Vista and up v3 driver, which is what we are referencing here. You know to access a menu for something in Windows you need to right-click right?
Canon
Dell
Xerox
You can't set it like the old Fuji Xerox devices. You can just print via the GPD and use the special codes to mask the Job name
Open the GPD to Printer Properties > Administartion
on the keyboard tap CTRL + Shift + X to get the Special codes option
enter in code10 and click set
Hi unmtaoslibrary,
Maybe this will help:
Hidden feature code10 - Mask Job Name not honored via LPR
This problem has been resolved with version 071.xxx.034.06000_FE or higher software for the WC 78xx device. Please contact your Xerox Support Representative to obtain this software.
IMPORTANT NOTE: LPR/LPD settings must be adjusted on the WC 78xx WebUI to allow this feature to work properly.
Through the WebUI > Properties > Connectivity > Setup > LPR/LPD > Edit... > Advanced Settings > Select 'Enabled' for "PDL banner page attributes override LPR control file attributes for job name and owner".
Select "Save" after enabling.
Also note: The hidden driver feature "code10" must be set within the Print Management plug in (on applicable OS's) versus setting this within the Devices and Printers dialog to work correctly.
Kind Regards,
Jeroen Wit
Hi!
Thank you so much for answering my question.
I did read the previous thread stuff and the things I tried didn't work and my bosses don't want me to install any other programs on the computers.
Just wish there was a way to remove items from the Comnpleted jobs list.
Like, Just hit delete....
Just a thought as a suggestion to make this available on future printers.
Hi!
Please, do read the whole thread, you will probably find your answer.
a third party software is still a working workaround.
Best Regards
Kimzi

Is anybody still here answering questions? We have a Xerox WorkCenter W7830PT and would love to know the answer to the question in the up there in the subject.
We are a library and don't want students, or other staff members, to be able to see our file names in the Completed Job list.
Is there a way to delete the list? At least keep maybe only the last 10 or 20? There are 150 jobs listed!
Even old cell phones have the option to delete old messages!
Or can we prevent the file names and user names from being listed in the Completed Jobs list from now on?
How would we do that? I went into the printer properties and don't see anything there.
Thank you very much.
