Printer Properties and Properties are not the same place.
In the Printing Prefereneces, I see Paper Size:
I select custom size, and then underneath it says Frequently used paper sizes can be defined in [Custom Paper Size] button in printer properties. I believe the doc says the same and says to right mouse click. If I go to start, devices and printers, and right click on the driver, there are two tabs under properties. They are [General] and [Hardware] Neither says anything about paper size, and appear to be dead ends.
Now maybe you mean the web page. If I go the the Phaser 6500N properties on the web interface, there is system setup, which has the "Nearest Size" setting and the PCL settings, which allow a paper size setting, but I really don't see and opportunity for a custom size. I set the PCL size to match the paper in my tray (along with the application).
If you left click on the printer, and double click on adjust print options, printing preferences is brought up, which is back where we started.
If you do select a custom paper size here, I selected 9x6.7, and put comparable paper in the tray, despite all that effort, it prints 2" above the top of the page, apparently thinking it is 11" even though I specified 9".
