I live in the UK and have previously phoned the UK Xerox Support Department, however they told me I would have to have pay for a care package if I wanted to speak to a Product Specialist as my product was out of warranty.

Stop Phaser printers eating your expensive tona.
My Phaser 6022 is only used occasionally as a home printer, consequently it decides to stir (refresh) its toners very often, and this action will waste something like 2% to 4% of each tona cartridge, each time it decides to do this. It’s probably OK if these printers are used every day for large printing runs as a single toner refresh (stirring) will have less impact on total tona usage if you’re printing something like 50 pages per day, but if like me you only print 1 or 2 every other day a toner refresh has a huge impact on my printing costs.
It looks like these Phaser printers have a built in timer and decide to refresh the tones something like after every 48 hours instead of after so many pages. My answer is to turn off the printer the minute your pages have finished printing, this way your Phaser is denied the opportunity to waste tona when stirring which would otherwise happen after printing.
