  • Find the desired Postscript Fonts (can they be purchased from Xerox?)

Xerox does not make or sell fonts of any kind.

  • How do we purchase the Postscript Fonts (if we have multiple printers, do we have to purchase multiple copies of the same font?)

Probably depends on if they are purchased or licensed. Try Google

  • Do you need to purchase different version of the font for different formats (ie:  normal, bold, condensed, itallix, underlined, etc...)

Again, depends on what you buy and where.

  • Getting the Postscript fonts loaded onto our printers (is this something I can do or does it have to be done by a Xerox Tech?)

Depends on what you are loading them on to, for a Freeflow/DocuSP you simply select in the Freeflow Administration > Postscript/PDF/PCL Fonts, then select Postscript Soft from the dropdown box and select Load and browse to your purchased font then select Install. You must reboot for them to become available

Xerox OSA link

  • What is the typical timeframe between purchasing a Postscript Font and having it installed on the printer?

Since nothing at all is done by Xerox this relies on yourself, theoretically it could be done in minutes.

How to get new Postscript fonts for Xerox Nuvera printers

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We are starting many new print projects and have decided to use the Postscript fonts on the printers instead of passing the fonts in the print jobs just to keep down the size of the print jobs.  We will eventually be asked how we should go about buying and loading new PostScript fonts on our Nuvera 288 printers, but I am not sure where to start.

Would someone be able to tell me what process I would expect to go through to:

  • Find the desired Postscript Fonts (can they be purchased from Xerox?)
  • How do we purchase the Postscript Fonts (if we have multiple printers, do we have to purchase multiple copies of the same font?)
  • Do you need to purchase different version of the font for different formats (ie:  normal, bold, condensed, itallix, underlined, etc...)
  • Getting the Postscript fonts loaded onto our printers (is this something I can do or does it have to be done by a Xerox Tech?)
  • What is the typical timeframe between purchasing a Postscript Font and having it installed on the printer?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Randy
