I have been using the Xerox Phaser 6125N for many years on Linux. I love these printers so much I had purchased 2 new and since aquired 2 more used,
The Phaser 6130 drivers will not work on the 6125
Also what is impossible today is possible tomorrow.
I use Linux as my primary OS and have used the Fuji Xerox drivers all along. Here is the link to the driver for the FX C525http://onlinesupport.fujixerox.com/processDriverForm.do?ctry_code=AU&lang_code=en&d_lang=en&corp_pid=DPC525A&rts=null&model=DocuPrint+C525+A&type_id=2&oslist=GNU+%2F+Linux&lang_list=en
Although I have never seen it before now there is also a Prefilter package there too , hmm interesting. http://onlinesupport.fujixerox.com/processDriverForm.do?ctry_code=AU&lang_code=en&d_lang=en&corp_pid...
I used to have the 32 bit and 64 bit debs pre-converted and ready to go . There was also someone who had once repackaged the driver with tweaks for the phaser 6125 .
Google led me here https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1552166 which contains my old post from several years ago but my site blog no longer exists so the teknogeekz link is dead. The last post there tells you how to convert the rpm to 64 bit deb
You will also need to make some tweaks to paper supplies as I recall after installed.
I think there is also a myth floating around on the internet that the Phaser 6125 with this c525 Linux driver will only support composite black when printing in color. I think the work around for this is to print in PHOTO mode. . I was having issues with a black cartridge printing light gray and printed a color page in Photo mode and all blacks came out light gray. I then reprinted in other modes and only photo mode had the light blacks from the bad black cartridge. All other modes did seem to be composite black yielding in my case a reddish cast, but blackish, not light gray.
Also if you are in a high altitude you need to set it for thicker paper or ink may flake off the page. There is no altitude asjustment on these printers and that problem started for me on 2 6125 printers after moving from sea level to 5000ft But also see the first post in the earlier ubuntuforms link , as this user claimed his was "crying for different paper (type?)". I think this might also relate to using this driver?????
On SOME systems I have also seen:
If I print 3 copies, I get 9 . If I print 2 copies I get 4. if I print 12 copies I get 144.. No rational explanation for this and have not seen others who experience the same.
I never got it working using the files from the Xerox website. I eventually found this page:
https://rickvanderzwet.nl/trac/personal/wiki/XeroxPhaser6125N
(I was a bit reluctant as it is not an official distribution...)
sudo dpkg -i cups-xerox-phaser-6125n-1.0.0.deb
sudo apt-get install libc6-i386
sudo apt-get install libcups2:i386
Hello 3JL.

Hi all,
I am looking for a way to hook up my Xerox Phaser 6125N to my server via USB to make it accessible for the entire household via Airprint (e.g. by using cups). (Airprint is the key here; if there are other suggestions to get the printer working via iPhone and iPad when connected directly to the network, I am equally happy.)
My problem: there are many descriptions on how to get this printer working on Linux. However, they are all outdated. Most of them refer to Fuji Xerox Docuprint C525 drivers. But I can no longer find these on the Xerox website. Plus, they seem to be 32 bit, while my system is 64-bit.
Example: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1552166
I have tried using the Phaser 6130 driver that comes with cups, but this does not work (printing job is canceled by the printer, rather than processed).
My system: 64-bit Intel Xeon (v6) with ESXi (so any low-resource OS can be used, preferably Linux)
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
