Well, since I utilized the help I received here, things were printing along swimmingly. However, now I have a newly created Publisher 365 document that the Xerox 7830 refuses to print. "Waiting for printer to respond: XRX9C934E54CF59" and it never responds. Other folks here at the church are printing to the 7830 just fine. Word 365 prints to it just fine for me. What am I overlooking?
I can export it to PDF and that prints fine.
Thanks,
Lisa
THANK YOU!!! I didn't think about choosing the option of printer I want is not listed! And I probably would never have gotten the port settings right. Your graphics were a tremendous help! Thanks for saving this doofus!
This printer install just wasn't as straight forward as I'm used to.
Thanks again,
Lisa
There is no executable.
Click Add Printer > The Printer I want isn't listed (do not pick from the list)
Choose the bottom one
Create a new port > Standard TCP/IP
Enter in the printers IP address (Hit the machine status button on the printer and this will be in the middle of the screen) in the box, name doesn't matter, do not check the box or you will not get a choice of driver and be right back to the same problem
Choose Have Disk
Then simply browse to where you downloaded and installed the driver, which would typically be C:\Xerox\UNIV_5.617.7.0_PS_x64\UNIV_5.617.7.0_PS_x64_Driver.inf and choose the ini file that shows up there
I hate to be a total doofus but how to I stop Windows 10 from installing XRX9C934E54CF59 and force it to use what I downloaded? I don't get the option to tell it I have a driver for the printer...
I removed the original printer Windows installed within Device Manager with the option to delete the driver and WIndows still installed with XRX9C934E54CF59 the second time.
I don't find an executible file to start an install wizard either.
Thanks,
Lisa
You are getting that error because you are letting Microsoft use its own driver (Class driver), which is using XPS
Just download the Xerox driver and all will be well
I am now working at a local church, onsite with my personal laptop. The church has a Xerox WorkCentre 7830 as their only printer. I need instructions on how to properly install this printer/driver on my laptop in order to print to the 7830.
I tried adding a printer via Windows Devices and Printers but when I tried printing I got an error page. "The job was not printed because the XPS option is not enabled. Contact System Administrator to enable XPS on this device."
Unfortunately, there is no one here currently that knows how to correct this.
Thanks in advance for the assistance!
Lisa
