the problem was the driver version. I had to downgrade the x64 drivers to match de x86 driver version.
The driver on the client has to match the one on the server exactly with the exception of architecture.
So on the server, if you install the 7225 PS x64 driver named PS Driver - 64 bit, Xerox User Interface - Microsoft Certified, with the version number of 5.433.16.0 dated Mar 9 , 2016. Then at the client, you need to install the PS Driver - Xerox User Interface - Microsoft Certified, with the version number of 5.433.16.0 dated Mar 9 , 2016 when prompted.
After you have done that, the rest of the clients will be able to pull the driver directly from the server as the driver will now have both shown installed
I have not had to actually use the force install through a client for at least a year though, this should all be doable (at least for the 7225) directly at the server through the Additional drivers option under the Windows Driver sharing
You cannot use different drivers, they have to be identical with exception to the architecture.
Hello everyone! I'm having serious trouble installing 32bit drivers for Windows 7 for Workcentre 7225 and Workcentre 7530.
I have a Server 2012 R2 Print server with over 100 printers on it. I want to add 32bit drivers for the Windows 7 x32 clients for these printers. I downloaded every single driver from Xerox website but none of them works or it's detected as a proper driver by Windows.
I successfully added the drivers to my print server but I can't enable them on the printers.
I also tried installing the printer from a Windows 7 x32 client, introducing the right drivers when the installation prompts for a proper one. But this doesn't work either. It says the driver is incorrect for the device.
please, I need urgent help with this matter as I'm facing an inminent print server migration and I can't leave my 32bit clients printerless.
Thanks!
