Re: Issue with custom card size in bypass tray

I have just bought an AltaLink C8045 but am not able to print on custom sized media. I have had Xerox machines for many years and when custom media is inserted into the bypass (for example) and the size etc set that media then appears in the printing driver for selection. However, for this machine it doesn't. Also in the past I was able to go to the "Other Size" > "Fit to Page Size" menu and select "Custom", but there is no custom option.

Re: Issue with custom card size in bypass tray

Hello, If you are facing issues when attempting to print custom sizes from multiple trays (tray 1, tray 2, and bypass tray) on your VersaLink C8000 printer, it is recommended to ensure that the paper settings for the printer and the print job match, including the paper size, type, and orientation. Verify that the custom paper size falls within the supported range for the printer. Additionally, consider updating the printer firmware, cleaning the paper path and rollers, and reaching out to Xerox customer support for further assistance if the problem persists.

Re: Issue with custom card size in bypass tray

We also have a brand new VersaLink C8000 printer and have the exact same issue when trying to print custom sizes. Both from tray 1, 2 and the by pass tray. Please help.

Re: Issue with custom card size in bypass tray

Hello Marineman110,

The Waiting for Resources message usually means that the stock description in the driver, does not EXACTLY match with that in the tray. You also mention it says "waiting for A4" which sounds like something is not matching between the driver and the actual printer. If you have checked that and can't figure it out, I would recommend contacting the Support Department for troubleshooting.

You can also check for updated firmware and drivers to see if that also could be the issue.

Thanks,

Issue with custom card size in bypass tray

Product Name: VersaLink C8000 Color Printer
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi Guys. We have just taken delivery of the above printer. We are trying to print custom size card stock (135mm x135mm) from the bypass tray. The bypass tray settings are 135 x 135 card stock ivory and page setup in word is 135 x 135.

Under Paper Handling we select scale to fit paper size and the Destination Paper Size is the same as in page setup.

We send the job to the printer. The printer states 'waiting for resources' and shows the correct settings for the bypass tray but the job says its waiting for A4 - HELP!
