Thank you very much for the information.  I believe you are correct.  Some time after posting this one of my co-workers found some info leading us to believe it would not work for us this way.

Hi,

I'm not sure but I think the 6125 is not a PCL printer. This means that you can not print from AIX. You need a GDI Windows Driver or MAC. The job processing is done by the pc and not by the printer, you can not print text directly from a PC. There is no RIP in this printer.

LPD printing form a AIX server

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We are trying to get a Phaser 6125N printer printing from an AIX server and keep getting the message displayed on the console that the job has been Cancelled.  I see another related post and the suggestion was to set the queue name and I looked through the user guide for this model online and don't see where I can set the queue/port name.  Also can the port number be changed from 9100 to 515?  I would appreciate any advice you would provide.
