Is there an ETA on the 10.7 driver for a DocuColor 7002 running the Creo print server.

Re: MAC OS 10.7 / Lion Compatability Guide

Adding my Phaser 6140DN with CUPS / DNSSD works!

I did not read this elsewhere so I thought I share it...

Perhaps it can help someone.

I first tried installing my Phaser 6140DN the normal way but that 'obviously' did not work.

There is however another way to install a printer ( CUPS ) wich worked for me.

Therefore you must follow the following steps:

  1. Install the latest driver  from the Xerox support site for your printer.
(if you had not done so already )
  2. open a web browser and enter address http://localhost:631
  3. You see the CUPS 1.5.0 web interface
  4. Click Administration and then Add Printer
  5. A password screen pops up. You need to type your administrator login and password
  6. Next screen, select yourprinter in 'Discovered Network Printers' and click 'Continue'
  7. Follow the on screen instructions.
  8. When done try to print something.

This worked for me. :-)

Re: MAC OS 10.7 / Lion Compatability Guide

I have read thru all of Xerox's post's about upcoming drivers for Lion 10.7, and the 4th quarter 2011 deadline is fast coming to an end.

The Phaser 6120 is listed as "compatibility level 5" but no additional info as to a date is given. Am I to assume that the Phaser 6120 will no longer be supported?

And what of the Phaser 6500 ... which appears to be the 6120's replacement? It too states 4th Q 2011, but so far no Lion driver?

My 6120 is still going strong; but if there is no driver upgrade path planned, then I'm kinda stuck out in the water without a way back to shore.

Please, at least let me know if I need to plan on replacing my 6120 w/ something newer!

Re: MAC OS 10.7 / Lion Compatability Guide

I have a client on Lion with a WC7655.  I have downloaded the latest drivers for her and have installed and setup the printer in her System Preferences.  If she tries to print paper from Tray3, it uses Tray1. No matter what tray besides Tray 1 she chooses, it defaults to Tray 1.  I have checked the driver settings in the Options and Supplies window of the Print & Fax preference pane to make sure that it sees that she has multiple paper trays, and it does.   Any hints as to what she might do, or is this a known issue?

Thanks.

Re: MAC OS 10.7 / Lion Compatability Guide

I have 10.7.4 install on an all Mac environment with 8 machines. I did download the 10.7 dirvers and have installed them on 5 of the 8 machines. Our printer is a 6180_MFP-D.

I get broken pipe messages, and postscript errors on every single machine except one, the machine that is connected via USB (server). In order for me to acutually use this printer across the network, I have to share it through the host. All 4 other machines trying to print via Bonjour printing cannot with the above broken pipe and postscript errors.

I suspect this driver is not fully 19.7.4 compatible to have such consistent failure across network connections. I have put hte USB connect to each of the 5 machines and it works fine through USB. I suspect the network component of this driver be tested some more.

I did test a brand new MacBook Pro with a clean, base intall of 10.7 on it and had the same issue. This leads me to believe my previous comment.

Hopeing a patch to this is released soon.

Re: MAC OS 10.7 / Lion Compatability Guide

When I print from Word 2011 to 8570DN I cannot return to Finder and the saved document cannot be moved or opened. I removed the PDD files and icc file , reinstalled the printer using a generic PS driver and it seems to work.

I presume the problem was the 2.71.0 version of the driver.

I was also getting a PrintScout error so I presume that was what held up the Finder.

Re: MAC OS 10.7 / Lion Compatability Guide

Hey!

If it was a printscout error this can easily be uninstalled in your apps folder.

Thanks! :)
