This week I started in IT at a small company and am looking to help a user in marketing print from their Mac (Big Sur) to the office printer (AltaLink C8030).
He says he was printing just fine by exporting from Illustrator to pdf file to this printer in October of last year. It stopped printing in November and they reconnected it at some point earlier this year. From then on it has printed in black and white only, with strange shadows on the document where safe print borders and other trasnparent layers are shown. We can remove some of that by flattening the files, but he says he did not need to do that before, and it still prints in black and white only (I believe I have attempted all "simple solutions" to this, but by all means please feel free to be thorough with those suggestions.
My personal next thought was to look into the 5.7.1 driver to see if that were available for download and install. His timeline seems as though it could like up with an Oct 16th release of 5.7.2 (which is what we are currently running and experiencing the issue with).
