Oh no! Second post in as many days!
Just installed the 10.6.8 update to Snow Leopard, and now jobs that I send to my DocuColor 242 through the Fiery EX260 Color Server PS Driver v3017.102 don't make it to the printer. OS X is telling me that the printer is paused, yet clicking resume does nothing. Re-installed driver and ran permissions fix, but still no go. Job message says "/usr/libexec/cups/backend/lpd failed" when I click "Job Info".
Console gave me this crash report:

Solved! Go to Solution.
for 10.6 systems you need to install the fiery cups fix , you can download it on the drivers and support section
Fabio, I have installed the CUPS permission fix and still does not work. It was working fine before the 10.6.8 system update. I then deleted old printer, ran a repair of permissions using disk tools, reinstalled drivers, installed the CUPS fix and recreated a new printer and printing still does not work. I have just been making PDF files and importing them into CWS to get my printing out but something else is going on.
I´ve got the same problem here. The cups fix cure for getting the printer drivers to work on 10.6.x simply doesn´t work. Here at work it seems like an impossible task to ban the 10.6.8 OS X update ,so an updated compatible driver from Xerox is obviously the best solution.
i have the same problem.
after the update 10.6.8 the printer drivers seems as paused
there is any fix? or updated driver that support 10.6.8?
thnaks
Did any of you guys install the OS X 10.6.8 update using the incremental updater from 10.6.7 or using the much larger 10.6.8 combo updater?
FYI, the 10.6.8 combo installer solution suggested in some support forums doesn´t apply to the Xerox driver issue. Running the combo installer after the incremental one won´t solve this. I´ve already tested this on 3 Mac Pros with a combination of Xerox driver reinstallation and the CUP fix.
Hi
Same problem here
7 x Xerox 242's from various macs with 10.6.8 update applied. Printer just pauses immediate after spooling begins. Resetting print system. installing Fiery CUPS patch does not clear the problem. Only affecting Xerox 242's - larger 7002's and 5252's not affected. All macs pre 10.6.8 are working fine too.
Help.
