Re: MacOS shows printer is out of paper even though it's not

It's just a notice the tray is empty. They put it there after a decade of people complaining that the driver couldn't see what was in the bypass tray. There is no way to disable the notification on mac os.

MacOS shows printer is out of paper even though it's not

Product Name: AltaLink C8030 / C8035 / C8045 / C8055 / C8070 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: macOS 10.13 - High Sierra

We just got an AltaLink C8070.  I'm trying to install it on our MacOS clients.

When I install it, I choose to install an IP printer.  I select the LPD printer port type.  I leave the queue name field empty. and add the printer.  I configure the options- we have a 2 to 3 hole punch and BR finisher.

The printer I added is working, but the status is reporting "Out of paper."  We need a solution for this.  Our users are going to think the printer is constantly out of paper.

I'm aware of the other post from 2016 reporting this problem.  I'm hoping in three years since then there is a solution.  A setting on the copier?  Maybe setting the default tray?
