We have had a Phaser 4600 for a few years. We realized today that paper tray 3 is not recognized by the printer. The printer's configuration report claims that Tray 3 is not installed. This is not about the computers not seeing tray 3, the printer is not seeing tray 3 itself. We have taken the printer off of the tray module, examined the connectors, and put it back together. No change.
I am wondering what else I can do to try and get the printer to recognize the module. I realize that we may have a hardware problem as opposed to firmware.
Hi PaulChernoff,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please turn the machine off and disconnect it from tray 3. Turn the machine back on and print a configuration report make sure it is recognizing the other things you have installed. Turn off the machine again and then install tray 3. Turn the machine back on and print a configuration report. If it still does not recognize the tray please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
