Re: Magenta faded lines

I wouldn't think that it would be an environmental problem since it was only happening with one color.

I wouldn't recommend switching the charge wires for safety reasons.

Re: Magenta faded lines

Hi Fiery!
I've printed two test pages with good results. I'm not sure why, but I´m thinking the reason was a low temperature condition. I have also read the following:

The DC element by which the BCR is charged is corrected according to values read by the Environmental Sensor and the Drum Cycle Quantity.

Can I switch the BCR wires (M<->Y)? If so, do you think it could be a good choice to test?

Thank you very much!

Re: Magenta faded lines

Nice picture! The contact looks good. If you can see the defect on the drum then I would suspect the drum/ developer housing drive gears or a bad magnetic roll on the developer housing. I wouldnt think firmware since it is in only one color.

Re: Magenta faded lines

Hi Fiery! Thanks for your reply!
The contact clip seems to be ok (attached picture)
The rail looks like the others (ok).
I had stopped a print job (opening the front door) then I could see the faded lines on the transfered image on magenta drum. I've done the same test, but analyzing the cyan image unit and faded lines have not appeared.
I have upgraded the firmware without obtain changes.

Thank you!magenta DRUM Contact.jpg

Re: Magenta faded lines

It looks like a developer housing problem or maybe 'noise' from a bad drum contact. There is a double silver contact clip in the rear of each drum station. Pull out all four drums and cover them. Shine a flashlight into the back of each drum station and look at the bottom where the drum would touch if it was latched in place. Compare the silver contact in the magenta station to the cyan station and see if it is bent out of shape. If you look at the bottom rear of the drum you will see where this clip touches it. Another thing to check is if the magenta drum rail is bent. This will cause improper latching. If neither of these are the causes then I would look at the ibt magenta first btr roller.

Re: Magenta faded lines

Hi!
One week ago I've performed a Paper calibration (Printer Setup -> Calibration Setup -> Calibrate for Paper) without obtain better results. Also I've performed Color calibration...
From Service Diagnostics menu v3.5.0, I can´t find a Calibrate for paper option. Perhaps it is on a newer version?

The only action that changes the issue behavior is to setup a different paper weight. Always using the same type of physical paper, the frequency of faded lines is higher (seems to be the double) when I change from thin paper to thick paper on "Paper Handling Setup". What could be the reason?

Thank you again!

Re: Magenta faded lines

Hi again!

Sorry, the pictures does not show up for me, though if the problem persist even when changing drum (and only in one color) I would suggest changing the toner and the developer.

Before changing any part you could try getting a new ream of paper 80 g, and perform a "Calibrate for Paper" procedure, but this is only possible if you have access to the diagnostics menu.

Best Regards

Kimzi

Re: Magenta faded lines

Hello Kimzi!

Thanks for your reply!

- I've switched magenta drum with cyan drum and there are no changes.
- On the four pages of drum test I can see irregular lines but the most significative problem is on magenta color. Lines are parallel to the short edge of an A3 page and are from side to side. (attached images)
- I had clean the magenta laser window without obtain changes.

What do you think?

Thank you!
Ariel

Re: Magenta faded lines

Hi!

What about printing the drum test instead?

You can download it from HERE.

Does it occur on any other color?

Try switching the magenta drum with the cyan drum instead, as yellow might be hard to see.

Also if its a light line it could be that the laser window needs to be cleaned, have a look HERE.

Best Regards

Kimzi

Magenta faded lines

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello, when my xerox 7760 prints a 100% magenta box there are faded lines consistently every 1 millimeter. If I select a thick media, the distance between faded lines is lower. I have switched the image units (magenta <-> yellow) without obtain different results.

Attached is a sample with 100% and 60% and a comparison with the cyan (thin media).

How can this be fixed? Thank you in advance.

Ariel
