Hi SK_ Daily,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. We checked with some people trained on the Iridesse and here is what they said about the issue you have: "More passes usually means possible IQ artifacts. Every time, the prints goes back into the engine, the chances for color mis-registration is possible. Even if we are very tight on color registration, this will show up more in 7 passes.
They could try to replace the IBT belt but more than likely will not improve enough because now they know about the defect."
If you need further assistance please contact your local support centre.
I am seeing degraded print quality trying to run 7 layers of clear over an object on our Iridesse Press. I am getting a lot of streaking over the entire piece in the process direction. I swapped out drums with another color and did a Corotron cleanings as well as dry ink cleanings. 1st pass with all colors turns out looking good, but streaks start developing after that as to make the printed output unusable.
