Hello Nasr,
You will need to call into the support center for them to generate the pin code needed, please call 1-800-821-2797 for assistance.
Hi,
1. Yes, R2 are available for metered and sold service plan.
2. In most cases (not sure for your machine) metered machines accept sold consumables, but sold machines did not accept metered parts.
3.Toner cartridge is standard worldwide, no matter what service plan you have.
Normally the drum cartridge came with the transfer module. This is for assuring a good quality of print and R2 have a life based on it's chip (about 360.000 prints).
Also what you said about indication for the transfer separation assy to be pulled/pushed is for maintaining for a good print quality.
Thanks for the update.
Can you please confirm/advise my queries below:
- R2 maintenance modules are available in metered and sold versions.
- Can I use both metered and sold versions of the R2 maintenance module in my MFD even though the current service plan is configured as Metered?
- Toner cartridges for Xerox 5855 are just standard cartridges, i.e there are no sold and metered versions.
I noticed some suppliers also sell the transfer separation assembly unit as an individual component, separate from the R2 maintenance module.
As this component is much cheaper than buying the full R2 maintenance module which includes the transfer separation assembly, will just changing this component help with my issue of regularly having to carry out an R2 maintenance module clean via the 'Tools - Troubleshooting' menu options?
The MFD console display also regularly indicates for the transfer separation assembly to be 'moved' by pulling/pushing the blue connector installed on the component (not sure how to describe this action, hope it makes sense).
Hi,
Metered machines are just in full maintenance agreement, so your machine was in a contract like that.
For your printer there is just the print/drum cartridge (R2) metered. The fuser (R3) is different for USA and Europe (120V/220V). The toner have just one part number worldwide, so is not metered (did not have a chip).
I will recommend you to contact Xerox Service Centre for changing the service plan, because you will not find in the market metered drum cartridge. They will provide to you a password based on the machine serial number to introduce in Service Plan. It is possible this may involve a cost.

Hi,
A while ago, I purchased a Xerox WorkCentre 5855 from a company on eBay who were selling their MFD used in their office environment. The MFD is working fine. I noticed when ordering toner cartridges, there are sold and metered versions.
What is the difference between them?
I checked the Service Plan settings on the MFD console display and it is displayed as "Metered"
Does this mean, I can only purchase metered toner cartridges or use both metered and sold cartridges?
On the screen where the service plan is displayed, there is some help which reads:
To change the service plan
If I did the above will I be charged?
The MFD does not have any current Xerox Service Maintenance agreements, so should I change from Metered to Sold to allow the purchase of Xerox 5855 consumables and modules from 3rd party suppliers?.
I also need to replace the R2 Maintenance Module and noticed even for this there are metered and sold versions.
