Yes it is necessary. The majority of our printing is on cartons.  This is our business model.  We have an epic coater hooked to the IGen4 and work rather well actually.  The solution to the miss registration was that the we cleaned the Glass and it honestly handled the issue.

First concern for me is the 18pt.  That is over the recommended gsm for acceptable stock, >350gsm.  If it is really necessary to run that thick of a stock make sure of correct grain, that will help movement of paper in press...sjd.

There is a cool feature I learned from the Techs about skewing of sheets.

First, make sure your platen glass and rollers in area 2 are clean. Then, run at least 20 to 30 sheets of your job. The feature allows sheets to straighten out automatically. They should be straight at the end of 30 sheets if not sooner. Good luck! Let me know if this works for you.

The 18pt cover we are running on our IGen4 is not feeding well.  It appears that the paper stock is going through on a skew.  We are getting(Lateral Misregistration XPE-08-32639)(Upper Feeder LE late to XPE-08-1105TAR/Multifeed) Help!
