Re: My Workcentre 7220 Keeps jamming and makes noises

Jump to solution

Sorry, I have no idea what "printed correctly" could mean since they are blank and are only being used to clean anything out of the system that is fused to the components internally.

If the first 6 had gunk/dirt on them, that's great, since it would imply the next 44 didn't. If the first 44 were blank and the last 6 had dirt on them, then 6 would not have printed correctly(they weren't blank)

Image quality can't exist on a blank document, and if 44 jammed and 6 didn't then something is obviously broken and you would have to have someone take it apart and service it.

Now I tried the 50 blanks. Out of 50. 6 printed correctly. What else I need to do?

From the beginning, I had put bright white copy paper (GP Premium red pack) in tray 1 on the plain paper setting.  It kept jamming. Then got some Xerox brand glossy cardstock paper, put it in the bypass at Glossy Cardstock Reloaded.  That copy was from the setting of Glossy Cardstock reloaded.  I fed 5 sheets.  I will do the 50 blanks with the card stock and see what happens.

The settings you put on the tray don't help us at all, because we have no idea what you put in the tray.

But since you choose reloaded, is the output your showing here paper that already was printed on and you are printing on it again?

Have you tried running 50 blanks through it to try and get the toner stuck to your fuser to come off?

So I set the paper on plain paper reloaded. The paper size 8 1/2 x 11 24 weight and 92 brightness. Not stored near AC. Room is between 65-70 degrees.

And from your own post history, it seems like improperly programming the tray was/is the issue.

Make sure you have the weight set properly. If it is also happening on plain paper, it could be an issue with the transfer belt assy, transfer roller or drum/ imaging units.

Check that the humidity is in acceptable range in the room the printer is in, make sure you load entire reams of paper, not a few sheets at a time (Static build-up), Don't store the paper near an air conditioner.Make sure it is loaded in the machine properly (Not just size, but type and weight matters). Try rotating it in the tray 90 degrees and see if it works better, it could be you are buying long grain vs short grain paper.
