Re: My printer autoselects the bypass tray

I have the same issue with my Phaser 7800.  Upgraded to Catalina and the new driver and it will only print from the Bypass Tray when AutoSelect is selected.  Bypass tray is at the lowest priority.

Re: My printer autoselects the bypass tray

I am having the same problem with OSX Catalina running xerox driver 5.5.2.  I am printing to a WorkCentre 7845.  When i try to print 8.5X11 it tells me resource not avialable if i set the tray to automatic.  As soon as i pick a tray it prints with no issues.

Re: My printer autoselects the bypass tray

Auto select means it auto selects the correct stock from whatever tray holds it

List your printer model

Also program tray 1 as plain white letter if that's how you're printing your jobs

My printer autoselects the bypass tray

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: macOS 10.13 - High Sierra

I'm running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5 but the Operating System drop down menu on this forum doesn't include that!

I cannot print from Tray 1 in any app using the autoselect function.  If I select Tray 1 it prints from Tray 1; so what's the problem you may ask?

If I go to the printer itself and try to print, for example, a configuration report, I get an error code saying the bypass tray is empty.  I have checked thre paper tray settings and Tray 1 is set to autoselect, the bypass tray is not - becasue you can not auto select it.

So why can't I print anything on the printer itself unless I put paper in the bypass tray?
