Need booklet setup info for booklet maker/folder/stapler on WorkCentre 7545 (using Windows 7)

And some day you will think you have the hang of the booklet thing and you will get a booklet with 2 pages on every page. This will mean that the saddle/imposition has been done in both the driver and the application. And that could be embedded in the file so you won't even see it. For instance Word 2010 can have it in here:

But the document as you see it will still be seperate pages, so you turn on booket in the driver, but the driver see's the job from Word already imposed, and it imposes the imposed document. Know you have 4 pages per page instead of 2.

The paper has to be landscape as the folder is stationary. It can't rotate 90 degrees to fold your paper, and since they had to account for paper that cannot be rotated (Can only run tabloid in portrait for example) the folder is parallel to the path. Since tray 3 and 4 are portrait, just load some landscape in trays 1,2 or 5.

There is no best way to do it, either let the application or the driver do the saddling/imposition (Booklet Layout). I tend to always use the driver for Imposition just because it is so much easier than using multiple App workflows (Acrobat/Reader and Indesign are totally different doing the same thing and they are from the same company, then you have Quark, And Publisher, And Word that each have their own methods)

Folding and stapling of course is driver only.

Things to watch for is if the driver does all the work, duplex is 2-sided but if the application is doing the imposition the duplex will usually need 2 sided Print flip on Short edge

I just got this printer with a booklet maker/folder/stapler add on.  I have no idea what the best way would be for setting up documents to work on this.  

I made a mockup word doc set up to page size 5.5x8.5 and the pages are in order from 1-12.  I was able to use the booklet maker to put it in the right order and it printed one copy - but no folding or stapling.   When I use the same document and try to also have it fold and staple it gives me an error that the paper can't be found.  I believe it's wanting a landscape 8.5x11 while the paper in my drawer 4 is 8.5x11 portrait.  Am I going to have to change my paper each time to a different drawer?

Is there a better way to set this up?  I'm used to setting up documents in the correct layout order ahead of time (usually in InDesign), but now I'm not sure that this printer will fold and staple anything unless it puts it in a booklet order first.   I can't seem to find anything on the web saying.... this is how you should set up your files to work the best way possible...  any suggestions?
