Sounds siimilar to an issue I'm experiencing. Seeing a variety of error messages when using IPP to a Xerox c8030. Driver is failing when processing jobs and thus never getting to printer.
That worked, thanks so much for the tip Joe
If you use an HP Jet direct port it can't even try to get a printer status, so try that first.
Did you ever resolve this issue? I too have a Altalink C8070 and I just upgraded it to the latest firmware version 101.003.008.27400. I can not get a Mac running OS Mojave version 10.14.3 to print to it using the latest Mac Xerox Driver version 4.22.2. The printer installs on my Mac just fine but when I go to print something the job just sits in the Queue and it gives me a message that says "Printing - Unable to get printer status." The job never makes it way to the copier. Not sure what is going on and I am running out of things to try.
Joe, you can't replicate the issue because you didn't read the post. This is an issue with the Altalink C8070 not showing in the list of supported units for the referenced driver. I too have the same issue.
Running Mac OS 10.13.6
Driver version 4.17.1 - release date 7/18
That is pretty odd, but I can't replicate it at all on 10.13.X using the same driver just downloaded now. So restart the Mac and hope really, or just choose the actual model from the dropdown list provided in your screenshot.
Or install it manually from System Preferences
We received a new Xerox Altalink C8070 at our school. We run MacOS 10.11 and the current driver from xerox is 4.14.0_1947. This driver will not find out C8070 on the network and when you use the IP instead of discovery we get this message:
"The printer model at this address is not supported by this installer. To continue, choose a supported model or enter a new IP Address or DNS Name"
When you click the select a manual printer model dropdown there is no C8070 to choose from?
