Re: Updating WC3220 firmware results in "Ivalid Toner" error

My issue was resolved when I contact Xerox local technical support in Singapore, and they email me the localized firmware. The firmware on the website is for US and will corrupt your machine if you purchase it outside of US.

I can email you the firmware if you give me your email address or a way to send to you. Best if you get it directly from your Xerox local technical support in your country.

Xerox, please fix this potential problem for your customer!!!

Good luck!

Boon Hong.

Updating WC3220 firmware results in "Ivalid Toner" error

Hi, I just flashed my WC3220 firmware using the firmware from the Xerox support site:

WC 3220 Firmware version 2.50.00.99 for USB Upgrade

After upgrading the firmware, my WC3220 gives an Invalid Toner error, shows a red light, and refuses to print.

How can this be fixed?

Re: New firmware result in invalid toner

Hello Boon.

Thank you for contacting us. We also received your message on Facebook and via Twitter. The firmware version that the machine had installed was a SPAR fix – likely installed  to resolve a specific issue. Those versions of software are not available for download on the Support site. The version that is available (2.50.00.99) is the most current version and will not be removed.

Prior to installing firmware it is important to note and ensure that the previous version is not already higher than the version being installed or problems (such as the one you experienced) will result. We have updated the note in the description field of this download to emphasize this point. I apologize for the problems you've experienced, but the cause of the problem was installing the older firmware on top of the SPAR version. The software itself is actually fine.

We'll look into the other issue that you mentioned. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Regards,

JenniferC

Re: New firmware result in invalid toner

The resolution is merely getting my previous firmware back to remove the invalid toner error. But the auto CC to sender for scan job is still there. Please look into that.

I also found that the corrupted firmware is still on your website. Please remove it asap.

Thanks,

Boon Hong.

New firmware result in invalid toner

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

After "upgrading" our WC3220 from Ver 2.51.00.91 to 2.50.00.99 (why the newer version number is lower???) at

http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-3210-3220/downloads-fx/ensg.html?operatingSystem=win... our WC3220 keep showing invalid toner even after we reset the printer and changed to a new toner. And it stop functioning completely, not even scanning is allowed despite not require the use of the toner!

Please restore the previous firmware for us to download in order to fix this issue. You may also want to remove this corrupted firmware to prevent similar cases from happening to other customers. See this for the same case happening to customers in Australia as well:

http://www.justanswer.com/printers/6olm3-hi-fuji-xerox-work-centre-3220-australia-wanted.html

btw, WC 3220 has another serious bug whereby all scan jobs will get CC to itself despite we have unchecked this option ("Automatically add the senders [From:] address to the recipient list"). After a few weeks, it will get auto-checked by itself again. This is a security risk as we do not want confidential scan job to get CC to the sender (copier) email address.

Thanks,

Boon Hong.
