Hi bobw2642,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at this forum post about setting up printing when a driver is not available. If the steps in this post do not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
My vintage N2125 is still virtually new...it has only printed 13,300 pages, and performs beautifully when connected to my older MacMini (System Snow Leopard) and my Windows PC (Windows 7 Pro). But my N2125 printer is not recognized by my new MacMini (Mac OS Sierra), even though it's directly connected via Ethernet AND USB.
If I connect it via Ethernet and create an IP printer, during IP printer creation, the Mac cannot find the N2125 even though it's on my network and its IP Address is correctly specified. If I check "proceed anyway" and accept the creation of that IP printer, and then select Apple Menu\About This Mac\System Repor\Ethernet, the new N2125 printer that I just created, does not show up on the list under Printers.
If I connect the N2125 to my MacMini via USB cable, my N2125's configuration sheet verifies that the N2125's USB port is enabled, but no such device is detected iby the MacMini (verified by checking Apple Menu\About This Mac\System Report).
Normally, especially with USB devices, you can connect ANY USB device to a Mac or PC and the computer immediately and automatically discovers and recognizes the device. Why is this not happening in my case, and is there any hope of fixing this issue?
