Re: No Tray 6 in Suse linux enterprise server

It works with this ppd-file "xr_Phaser4600" provided in this link: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=205848db640ed804&id=205848DB640ED804!2488&authkey=!AD4KsGRjdkxpBZU Simply download it, and put it under the proper directory (e.g. /usr/share/cups/model/"your printername"). Then install it via Cups.

Re: No Tray 6 in Suse linux enterprise server

miez,

last I got from this was " It seems to work! I can see Tray 6 now, and I can print from it.".
But you still had to do another test.
Any updates?

Re: No Tray 6 in Suse linux enterprise server

Hi,

do you want to give it a try on both these PPDs? 4600PPDs

The link will ask you to download a zip file. I was not able to attach it here. After extration you will find 2 PPDs. One is designed for Linux and the other a PS ppd. Try both.

I have configured my printers via cups but did not attempt printing.

Be aware even if this works, support is limited.

Re: No Tray 6 in Suse linux enterprise server

Yes. this could be one of the reasons. Actually the one I was thinking when I asked you the CUPS version. If not the PPD not containing it, maybe CUPS not understanding it.

Surely you can attempt to edit the ppd, but I will have to do a bit of research to find the right syntax to edit it correctly. If possible, as the tray6 I suspect would be a high capacity tray ?? (This is from top of my head).

I might do a test tomorrow, but I only have an ubuntu vm at my disposal, So I will try to make it work on CUPS.

Re: No Tray 6 in Suse linux enterprise server

Installed it via Yast, this is used by Suse. The cupsversion I use is 1.3.9-8.14. By the way, if I look in the ppd-file of the printer, I see the're are max 5 trays defined. Could this be the problem? Do I have to edit the ppd-file to add Tray 6?

No Tray 6 in Suse linux enterprise server [Solved]

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi, I installed the Xerox Phaser 4600 driver on our Suse Linux Enterprise server, but it doesn't want to see Tray 6 if i look under the properties. It looks like it is correctly installed, because I can print from Tray 6 under Windows. Is this a common problem? What could be wrong? Thanks in advance
