My computer is running Win 7, and I have not been able to get the Phaser 8550DT to print in color. After reinstalling the driver, the Test page says NO to color support. This printer is also supposed to print duplex, but the configuration page says it is disabled. How do I change these settings?
Are you using the global driver?
Try to install the specific driver and then in the tab configuration you can select optional settings

Try the following steps, this should resolve your B&W issue;
1). Go to Start and select Devices and Printers
2). Right click on the printer icon and select Properties
3). Go to the Options tab
4). Under Device Options, you should see a Configuration drop down menu, select 8560MFP in that list.
5). Click Apply and OK to exit out of this window and you should be good to go!

Hello. My Phaser 8550DP also does not print in color in Windows7, 64bit. The driver version is 5.102.0.3N 2009.03.14 Please name the specific driver instaed of a link to the driver download page. I have read the previous posts but have not seen an actual recommendation to resolve this issue. I thank you in advance.
i think its best to try a new updated global driver instead of specific, also make sure if you are connected with USB that the boidirectional settings are correct, look @ benjamin-G his post
Had the same problem after installing machine for a customer. I used the Global driver with PS and thats when it did not print color, so I deleted the Global driver and installed the PCL6 driver and then we had color. I hope this helps.
I am at a loss understanding how to get my 8550dt to print in color. I am a windows 7 system. It worked fine in xp but now the only pages that print in color are the information pages from the printer setup screen. I have had this printer for many years and it has been a great printer.
