Hi Scott,
It is known from a while that the V4 driver have some issues. That's why I recommend to everyone the V3 driver.
Hi Gabi
I've spoken with Xerox support - they have removed image scaling from the up-to-date printer driver.
You are on V3, I've been using V4. Xerox software engineers have apparently removed image scaling from V4.
Xerox Support have no idea why image scaling has been removed from the up-to-date driver. They had to regress my driver to V3 to make it work. I'm told not to update drivers to V4 by Xerox, which seems completely ridiculous.
Stick with V3 and don't bother updating your driver, the new driver has fewer functions.
Image scaling seems like a basic function of a printer. I don't know why it's been removed.
Try to install machine specific driver (not GPD, XGPD, Xerox Smart...)
Mine is 5.658.3.0N
So is mine.
Win 10 Pro (x64) - Versalink C405DN V4 PS.
All of drivers were installed by the Xerox installer in October 2019:
Xerox Print Experience 4.2
App version 7.48.41.0
Driver version 7.95.0.0
What driver you use? In my example is PS driver for Win10/64.
For completeness - this is what's under the further submenus - if I pick anything other than "A4" on either, the printer refuses to print until I load that size paper.
Absolutely stumped as to how to scale printing on this thing.
Hi Gabi
As per my original post, I don't have "Advanced Paper Size" as an option under Printer Properties>Printing Options>Paper>Other Size.
There are only two options under that, both of which don't work because the printer refuses to print unless I load whatever size paper is selected under either "Fit to New Paper Size" or "Change Document Size"
Is there actually a way to scale printing on the c405dn? I'm getting close to sending this back to the shop and getting a different model. Scaled printing is pretty much essential and I'd assumed this printer was capable of it
Hi,
Go to Printer Properties>Printing Options>Paper>Other Size>Advanced Papre Size and set it like in pictuer below:
Gabi
Hi all I seem to have no print scaling options on my versalink c405dn.
Win10 x64 Pro, latest drivers from Xerox.
I need to print some stuff at about 40% of original, but on A4. The printer manual says scaling options are on the Printing Options tab in the Paper field - but they aren't. There are no scaling options anywhere:
The "Other Size" tab just leads to either "fit to new paper size" or "change document size" - neither of which allows me to scale the print image (and neither of which actually prints - if I select something other than A4 the printer refuses to print until I load whatever the 'other size' paper is).
There are no print scaling options anywhere else that I can find. My old Brother printers offered scaling on the front page of the driver.
Surely there is a way that a near-£600.00 printer can scale images for printing? What am I missing?
Thanks!
